2019 Mazda6

At Montrose Mazda of Cleveland, we've felt the excitement drivers in the greater Cleveland area have for the Mazda6. Knowing that this midsize sedan is so well-liked among commuters in the Bedford and Lorain areas, it's no surprise that people want to know more.

While the 2019 model is still a closely kept secret, we do know about a few new upgrades we can expect to see, as well as some features from the current model that will be carrying over to the new one. Check out our 2019 Mazda6 preview to learn more.1 Then, view this car in our new inventory.

Technology Updates

One of the most anticipated updates to the Mazda6 is the infotainment system. This model will now make Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ capabilities available. These systems allow you to fully link your smartphone with your MAZDA CONNECT™ Infotainment System for access to hands-free calling and texting, as well as navigation and other apps that have been optimized for use on-the-go in Cleveland, OH.

In addition to this, we expect the standard MAZDA CONNECT™ system to remain similar to the 2018 version, with an 8-inch full-color touchscreen taking center stage. This system also allows you to stream internet radio, like Pandora®, through your Bluetooth®-capable smartphone and send and receive text messages while keeping your hands on the wheel.

Dynamic Driving

We expect the Mazda6 to continue the tradition of providing a dynamic and innovative driving experience, with SKYACTIV®-VEHICLE DYNAMICS returning.

This includes G-Vectoring Control, which provides a smooth drive, by countering the effects of gravity during a tight corner. G-Vectoring Control reduces the amount of pressure felt by passengers inside the car, resulting in less fatigue when you reach your destination.

The 2019 model is also expected to continue its crowd-pleasing drivetrain, with a standard SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L I-4 engine coming standard. This engine delivers 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. It also makes cylinder deactivation available when paired with the SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission.

Cylinder deactivation reduces your engine from four cylinders to two when it doesn't need to work as hard, like when cruising on an open highway. Doing this allows this engine to achieve an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 26 MPG city and 35 MPG highway.2

While you can take command of your shifting with the manual-shift mode included in the automatic transmission, a SKYACTIV®-MT 6-speed manual transmission comes standard on the basic trim level for drivers who like to have total control.

For an even more thrilling experience, the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L turbocharged I-4 engine will be making a comeback. This engine puts out 227-250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with the SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission, which can be operated in Sport Mode for improved acceleration.
